About Dorothy Parker Design

Dorothy Parker Design is passionate about sustainable, authentic design and artful juxtaposition. Your home has heart and we can help give it the style and function that you are looking for while using eco-friendly practices. Our design philosophy: design can be aspirational and it exists in the real world. In addition, it should always be personal, unique, and respectful of the resources available

Although Dorothy Parker is a Durango, Colorado native, she cultivated her design prose in San Francisco for more than two decades. For ten years, Dorothy worked with renowned designer Ken Fulk, who is now an influential tastemaker with international projects and offices in San Francisco and New York. While working (and wearing many hats) on some of Fulk’s most notorious projects, Dorothy perfected her craft and learned the art of installation as a critical component of the success of a design.

Sustainable Design Philosophy

Circularity has long been a core value for Dorothy. She began researching eco-friendly practices in 2004 and her curiosity has only grown. The more she learns the more passionate and determined she is to make mindful choices that help benefit both the planet and it’s creatures.

Dorothy believes that sustainable design and living are not only important for the planet but also to create a more equitable society. When people are treated well all environments benefit. In 2021 Dorothy took her love and interest in sustainability to the next level and became a certified Green AP through the Sustainable Furnishings Council. Having this certification helps us in being both mindful and knowledgeable about the materials and where they are from as they are hand picked for your home.

Design a home that reflects your unique story, style, and values. Put an end to the Pinterest and Instagram overwhelm.
