About Dorothy Parker Design

Dorothy Parker is passionate about elevated personal design, service, and artful juxtaposition. Every home has a story and when you partner with us, we will give it the style and attention to make it uniquely yours. Our design philosophy is that design should be thoughtful and aspirational while existing in the real world. In addition, it should be achieved with clear listening, communication, and with sustainability in mind.

Although Dorothy Parker is originally from Durango, Colorado, she cultivated her design expertise in San Francisco for more than twenty years. For ten years, Dorothy worked with renowned designer Ken Fulk, who is an influential tastemaker with international projects and locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. While working (and wearing many hats) on some of Fulk’s most notorious early projects, Dorothy perfected her craft and learned the art of intentional craftsmanship and installation as a critical component of the success of a design.

Sustainable Design Philosophy

Circularity has long been a core value for Dorothy. She began researching eco-friendly practices in 2004 and her curiosity has only grown. The more she learns the more passionate and determined she is to make mindful choices that help benefit both the planet and it’s creatures.

Dorothy believes that sustainable design and living are not only important for the planet but also to create a more equitable society. When people are treated well all environments benefit. In 2021 Dorothy took her love and interest in sustainability to the next level and became a certified Green AP through the Sustainable Furnishings Council. Having this certification helps us in being both mindful and knowledgeable about the materials and where they are from as they are hand picked for your home.
